Each year, individuals from across the globe join together for the Great Backyard Bird Count. Each participant spends at least 15 minutes observing birds and records what they count in the eBird system. Anyone can participate!

How do I participate?
No experience necessary! In the video below, Philip recruits a new volunteer and teaches the essentials — all in less than five minutes!
But… I’ve never done anything like this before!
That’s OK! The Bird Count is designed to be doable by people of all ages and abilities. There are lots of resources on the Bird Count website. You can also check out some resources below for more intros on the basics of birding:
