Eleven residents from Piper Shores retirement community in Scarborough, one of our generous business supporters, took a bus tour with CELT Vice President Elizabeth Goodspeed and Executive Director Cindy Krum last week. Participants were surprised to learn of the Trundy Point Preserve, and many planned to visit the cove again soon.
Our guests asked intriguing questions; one in particular stumped us: if a property is protected under a conservation easement, is it exempt from governmental expropriation by eminent domain? We’re looking into this and will share what we learn soon.
There was a wait list for this tour, and we will be glad to offer another one; stay tuned.
